2009 CAC Holiday Giving Programs

You can help a struggling family in our community
have a happy holiday season.

child

CAC is focusing the holiday programs on the families in our community who need assistance the most. These families are experiencing crisis situations. Many are at risk of becoming homeless because they lost a job or have serious medical situations. Your generosity can make the holidays brighter for a family in need this holiday season.

Assistance:

CAC is offering holiday programs only to families who have received financial assistance in 2009 from CAC.

  1. Holiday Food Program: CAC is giving grocery store gift cards in addition to an extra food allowance, which may be the traditional Thanksgiving food baskets or their choice of groceries the family needs most.

  2. Holiday Gift Program: CAC offers an “Adopt-a-Family” program to fulfill the holiday wish lists of children of CAC families.

Donations:

CAC Holiday Food Program
foodLast year high risk families received surprise food gift cards thanks to a generous donor. Their grateful tears were very eloquent, many told us what they would get with the card: The roast they had not been able to afford, the toiletries they had done without since they lost their job, the cake their kids had been asking for… Their responses made it clear that giving families a little choice during the holidays was a significant and meaningful gift. This year we want every family that has faced a crisis to benefit from a similar gift.  Please help us by donating grocery store food cards in $10,$20, or $30  denominations.

Food donations are also welcome. CAC will give Traditional Thanksgiving food baskets and extra holiday food allowances to those who qualify.

CAC Adopt-a-Family Programwish
We are seeking donors to “adopt” children of CAC families and fulfill their holiday wish lists. A list of families up for adoption with children's wishes are available on the CAC website at www.ourcac.org.

Donors can sign up on the CAC website to adopt a child or children, with a $50 maximum per child. Our adopted families will receive their gifts at our Holiday Party on Saturday, December 19 at Dunwoody Baptist Church.
