CAC youth programs assist the lives of local children whose families are facing difficult times. With donor support CAC serves children whose families can’t afford to give them what many other children have; lunches in the summer months, new back packs with school supplies and gifts during the holidays.

Give kids Tools for School and help prepare them for the start of school with the tools they need to learn! Donate online for Tools for School and your dollar goes further to help more children. Your donation of $35 provides for two backpacks with school supplies! Here's how: CAC buys wholesale saving about $20 each off the retail price! In addition, every dollar donated will be matched by an anonymous donor up to $10,000! Don’t miss this great opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life. Give to CAC's Tools for School and help 1,000 local children be prepared to learn for the next academic year!
CAC's Tools for School is unique, providing new backpacks filled with school supplies customized per school and per grade, all free to children of families in need. Choose to give to students at 13 area schools at CAC's Tools For School donation page! CAC's annual Tools for School drive takes place every spring and summer. Backpacks are distributed to children in late July/early August.
Donate to Tools for School!
In August 2014 CAC distributed more than 800 backpacks with supplies to students for the start of the new school year. A significant portion of the school supplies were funded by an anonymous donor from Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church and matching donations from the congregation. In addition, numerous businesses, civic organizations, congregations and individuals donated backpacks, school supplies and volunteered time to pack and distribute to students.
School supplies are also offered to teachers to use in their classrooms through the Teacher’s Closet program. We rely on donations from the community to provide these tools for children and teachers. Donations are accepted year-round.
Donate school supplies to the Teacher’s Closet and help local students this school year! The Sandy Springs Education Force in conjunction with CAC provide free school supplies to Sandy Springs school teachers with students from families in need. The Teacher’s Closet provides these classrooms with supplies to help students learn and eliminates the need for teachers to spend their own funds on school supplies. Supplies to teachers are limited to availability. The program relies on donations from the community to provide these tools for children and teachers. Donations are accepted at CAC year-round. Summer Lunch Bag
Summers are particularly stressful for families that are already struggling to make ends meet. Often these families receive free or reduced price school lunches to help feed their children during the school year. The Summer Lunch Bag program helps these families off-set summer grocery costs by providing children with lunch for a week. We rely on food drives to collect food for summer lunches. This program also makes for great group projects, to collect the food and assemble it into bags containing 5 lunches each. We accept donations for this program from April through July.

The CAC Adopt-a-Family holiday program is a great success, in 2014 about 1,200 children from local families were adopted for holiday gifts! More than 500 individual donors, congregations, civic organizations and businesses participated in adopting children. Families for adoption are posted online beginning in mid-October.
