Volunteer Opportunities at CAC!
CAC is adding volunteer opportunities as we begin the planning process of reopening services! Consider being a part of our team! Join us in helping our neighbors who are facing difficult times due to the COVID-19 economic shutdown.
- New and previous volunteers between the ages of 15 and older are welcome for onsite volunteering.
- Individuals 65 and older may make a personal determination about volunteering based on their comfort level.
- Medically fragile individuals are required to continue to stay at home due to COVID-19.
Volunteers would ideally be able to commit to a regular schedule such as once a week since positions require training. We also have opportunities for phone work from home. Contact Nolan at email@example.com.
Food Pantry Check In
This new position entails working on site at 8607 Roswell Rd, talking to new and existing clients in person to verify documentation and using a computer. Training provided. Available time slots: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Food Pantry Distribution and Donation Processing
Help distribute food to clients and take in and process large deliveries of donations on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays.
Food Pantry Packing and Donation Processing
Volunteers are needed to pack bags of food on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. About 250 bags of food are packed each of those days. Involves some heavy lifting. Other duties may also take place on those days such as taking in and processing donations and stocking shelves.
Thrift Shop Donation Sorters/Pricers
In anticipation of re-opening the thrift shop at a later date, we need volunteers to help prepare the shop! Volunteers will sort, hang and price donations of clothing and home goods and stock the retail floor.
Thrift Shop Sales Clerks
In anticipation of re-opening the thrift shop in July, CAC welcomes former and new volunteers to serve as sales clerks and help stock the retail floor.
