Can You Help Families Facing Evictions?
Many families and individuals in our community are on their way to economic recovery following rent assistance from CAC and finding employment again. However, there are still a lot of people unemployed due to the pandemic and in need of rent assistance.
Unfortunately CAC’s Emergency Assistance funds are running low and cannot provide for the wait list or the additional requests for assistance we continue to receive.
CAC is receiving about 100 requests a week for rent assistance. That’s about twice as many requests a week for help than CAC received before the pandemic. Many tell us they have been looking for work for months and have depleted their savings.
CAC has distributed more than $2.5 million in rent assistance in the first 12 months since the pandemic began. Funding was provided by individual donors and public and private grants. We are working hard to secure more funds to help more neighbors facing crisis stay in their homes and avoid evictions.
Please consider helping our neighbors through their crisis situations while they look for employment as the economy fully recovers. When you give to CAC your gift helps families and individuals facing financial crisis situations stay in their homes and avoid eviction.
