CAC Plans Return to South Sandy Springs
CAC is planning to return to south Sandy Springs with a new branch office and food pantry on Northwood Drive! The new branch location will better allow us to once again serve residents of that area. The south Sandy Springs office will be located on the ground level of a new storage unit building currently under construction on Northwood Drive near Roswell Rd and I-285. CAC had an office and provided services to residents of that area in the previous building at that site. CAC is excited to move back to south Sandy Springs!
The interior build out of the branch office and pantry is expected to take place by the end of 2021 with an opening target date of early 2022. The interior build out is being funded in part by the Associated General Contractors of Georgia’s Young Leadership Program which donated all proceeds from their annual tournament to the construction. The tournament on May 5 in Peachtree City drew 375 players and raised $125,000! CAC is grateful to be the sole beneficiary of the event! Funds are expected to go toward building materials while AGCGA members will contribute construction services.
The brand new 3,200 square foot location will offer financial assistance and food services with possible free adult education classes in the future. CAC’s branch office and pantry will offer a client choice market with three industrial refrigerators and three industrial freezers, a reception area, a waiting room for 24 and separate offices for financial assistance interviews. Some refrigerators, tables and chairs have been donated by State Farm.
The new building will be community-friendly with a playground in the front and bicycle parking. The building will also house other area non-profits that provide support services to the community which CAC plans to partner with.
