Get Help – Career Counseling
CAC may be able to help you in you if are looking for a job or a path to a better job. CAC recently launched a Career Center which will offer a wide of services from educational resources, access to training and certification programs, and partnerships with local employers. Each client will be assigned a Volunteer Career Advocate who will provide: individualized training/ guidance on all aspects of career transition/job search process, basic career skills/ career assessment, help in identifying appropriate educational resources/ certification programs, practice interviews and interview preparation and discovering potential employers.
Interested clients will be referred to the Career Center for a brief career readiness interview. This meeting will be conducted to help determine appropriate next steps. A Volunteer Career Advocate will be assigned and will arrange for an more detailed interview. After the interview an action plan will be agreed on which could include full range of services and introduction to appropriate resources and job openings.
About the Career Center
CAC launched the Career Center initiative in September, 2021. The Career Center is a natural extension of CAC’s mission of providing emergency assistance to those in need and promoting their self-reliance. The Career Center offers a wide range of services directed by our Volunteer Career Advocates which will serve in a mentorship role both short term and long term basis. The objective of the Career Center is provide guidance for career transition, help enter the job market and to provide the tools for our clients to find better jobs and financial self-sufficiency.
