Services Overview

CAC helps residents of Sandy Springs and Dunwoody facing emergency situations meet the basic needs of food, shelter and clothing. CAC assists individuals and families experiencing unexpected financial crisis from situations such as a job loss or other reduction of income, illness, medical emergency, divorce or catastrophic situations such as fire or flood.

Immediate goals are to stabilize crisis situations and prevent homelessness and hunger. Youth programs enrich the lives of children of families in need. CAC promotes longer term goals of self-sufficiency through additional programs and referrals.

We do this by providing:

  • Individual Service Plans
  • Follow Ups for 180 Days
  • Adult Education
  • Job Placement Assistance
  • Free Tax Return Preparation and Filing
  • School Supplies for Children
  • Summer Lunches for Children
  • Holiday Gifts for Children

CAC is a private nonprofit organization and all services are made possible by grants, donations and a large volunteer force. In 2018 CAC served 5,630 individuals from 2,504 households. Since CAC was founded in 1987, the Center has touched 20,000 families in our community.
